Use student voices to improve your programs and services
CUSC surveys have supported quality improvement in Canadian post-secondary institutions for over three decades. They operate on a three-year cycle allowing you to hear from your undergraduate Bachelor students as they progress through their education from first to final year.
70 institutions participating in 30 years
about 400,000 respondents in 30 years
More than 12,000 respondents in 2024
Question topics common to all surveys
Optional Modules
Each year an optional survey module with additional questions on a specific topic is offered. For previous surveys these were: generative Artificial Intelligence; impact of COVID-19; course delivery and assessment methods;
Equity, Diversity, Inclusivity, and Accessibility (EDIA).
Experiments
In most years, an optional experiment is conducted which seeks ways to improve response rates. Past experiments tested survey length, providing “I prefer not to answer” response options, different incentives/ prizes, including encouraging messages to complete the survey, and randomizing the order of items in long questions.
